"Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma Treatment Shows Improvement "

In phase III data, the combination of pemetrexed and cisplatin has shown a longer survival time in malignant pleural mesothelioma patients, an invasive and quickly fatal malignancy that has been linked to asbestos exposure. The patients used in the study were not eligible for curative surgery and had a 12.1 month survival time with the drug combination, compared to 9.3 months in the control group.

Mesothelioma is one of the deadliest asbestos related illnesses that have contributed to the high number of asbestos claims.
